1611 KING JAMES BIBLE

After more than 400 years of usage, King James Bible has been one of the most influential books. But... why do readers agree with its difficult reading?

They assert that its language, sentence structures and sometimes the orthography make the reading partly inaccessible.

In November 2017 I was asked to do a brief commentary on any English written text that has had an impact on society. After some research I chose King James Bible as a core text. The activity was part of "History of the English language", a core module of the Bachelor degree in English Studies.
